About
The ultimate purpose of God’s mission is for His people to glorify him. The mission of the church is to “go and make disciples” (Matthew 28:18-20). One of the ways First Baptist Sulphur Springs works to accomplish that mission is through short-term mission trips. We partner with missionaries and pastors locally, nationally, and internationally to help, support, and encourage their ministries of making disciples that make disciples.
Missions gives us an opportunity to share the Gospel and share the love of Christ to all nations. Whether we are in Hopkins country, Milwaukee, on the other side of the world in Cambodia, or in the remote mountains of Nicaragua, we go with the same purpose wherever we go, to share the love of Jesus Christ and the good news of salvation.
Nicaragua Mission Trip
First Baptist Sulphur Springs has had a partnership with Nicaragua for the last 25+ years. We travel to Nicaragua every year to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We provide dental services to remote villages in the mountains of Nicaragua, as well as medical services. We do small vacation bible schools with the kids, and share the love of Christ with the local people.
El Paso mission trip
We have partnered with Sun City Church and Pastor Brent Small since 2021. The church was first launched in 2020 right before Covid. We are grateful to play a small part of this thriving, growing, amazing church. We hold soccer camps for kids in the community each year, and at the end of the camps we host a block party at the Sun City Church parking lot. Church members have the opportunity to meet and have spiritual conversations with many people in their community.
Cambodia Mission trip
In Cambodia we have the opportunity to work alongside Micah and Michelle Webb. Micah grew up attending First Baptist Sulphur Springs. God called him to the mission field. In Cambodia we visit different churches to encourage their pastors and leaders, and to help and support the Webb family. We host Pastors and Leader’s Conferences, and we do outreach through soccer camps with the youth.
Milwaukee Mission trip
First Baptist Sulphur Springs has partnered with Milwaukee pastors and leaders for the last 25+ years. We host Vacation Bible Schools in multiple churches. W do outreach through soccer camps, construction work, and media and communications work. This trip is one of the largest and multi-generational trips we do each year. First Baptist members of all ages have been making a huge impact in the life of the people in Milwaukee.
Youth Choir Mission Trip
The Youth Choir is for students grades 6-12. They work hard throughout the year to minister to people through worship. Once a year they take a mission trip and use their God given gifts to reach others and lead people in worship. The also work on different projects in the place they are visiting such as completing construction work, helping in homeless shelters, or through prayer walks.

Upward Basketball
Upward Basketball gives us an opportunity to make an eternal impact in the lives of kids. The program is designed to teach the kids about basketball, but most importantly about God. We are able to minister to the kids in our community through sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.
Nicaragua Roof Ministry
First Baptist Sulphur Springs has helped to provide roofs for churches, and the homes of pastors, as well as providing roofs for other church buildings in Nicaragua.
